Moukin “TYTON” SILHOUETTE CONCEPT LINE UP

April 17, 2015

So far behind in my posting – going to catch up now 🙂 So hear are my concept silhouettes for the Tyton. Small, quite stumpy. Bird-like. Specifically Owl-Like. Big eyes, heart shaped face. Head that turns right around. I was starting to think of this guy as a gentleman explorer. Gruff, Stuffy with a big … More Moukin “TYTON” SILHOUETTE CONCEPT LINE UP

Wou Concept Sketches

April 15, 2015

So when I find myself with some free time or I just feel like letting my pencil loose on some paper, I always enjoy doing rough and ready sketches. In this case I pencilled a few ideas about the Wou character. I think that the sketches are quite cool but that the final model will … More Wou Concept Sketches

Ophidia Concept Sculpt

April 13, 2015

One of my goals for this week (as I’m sure you’re well aware) is to get some rough concept sculpts done so that we can take them, 3D print them, and get a feel for how they will look on the tabletop. It is also an excuse to get more practice in with Zbrush 🙂 … More Ophidia Concept Sculpt

Varanid “Moschops” SILHOUETTE CONCEPT LINE UP

April 9, 2015

Catching up on my posting from the other week. Here are some silhouette studies for the Varanid “Moschops” Big dinosaur-ish. Heavily built, aggressive. Built like a MMA fighter or a Bouncer. Covered in spikes or bony horns and with a big bony tail like a stegosaurus or ankylosaurus

Wou Silhouette Concept Line up

April 7, 2015

Rounding out my two required characters for concept art this week is the Wou. This strange and alien creature is often described as hollow and empty by people who meet them. Friendly but otherwise odd seems to be the consensus, oh and they’re telepathic. For the first line up I found the silhouettes weren’t very … More Wou Silhouette Concept Line up

Pup Silhouette Concept Lineup

April 6, 2015

On to the first of my 2 required concept tasks for this week, the Pup. A younger, quicker and more headstrong version of the Elder. He is less armoured than the elder, but still has the distinctive shell or plating on him. I wanted him to look less stocky than the Rhorlan 1 Horn. I … More Pup Silhouette Concept Lineup

“Drazz” SILHOUETTE CONCEPT LINEUP

April 2, 2015

Here are the best few silhouette studies for the Drazz. An insectoid, multilimbed, anti social, adventurer. I really started to get into the idea that each limb was not really an arm or a limb – and that he would use whichever came to hand first (pun kind of intended) This only came through in … More “Drazz” SILHOUETTE CONCEPT LINEUP

Shrubber Concept Silhouette Lineup

April 2, 2015

Rounding out my allocated concept sketching this week is Shrubber. One of the smaller people in our game sitting on a 30mm base. Some sort of mix between a goblin, gnome, forest creature and a bush the Shrubber is adept at being hidden and avoiding attention. Oh and they like hats.

Moukin “Peregrine” SILHOUETTE CONCEPT LINEUP

April 1, 2015

So – completing my tasks from last week. Here is a few silhouettes for the gunslinging badass bird chick – the Moukin Peregrine. My first batch came out very human. I was using reference of girls in cowboy poses – kind of worked, but seemed really meh. So for the second batch, I actually kept … More Moukin “Peregrine” SILHOUETTE CONCEPT LINEUP

Rhorlan One Horn Silhouette Lineup Concept

March 31, 2015

This week I have been looking at the good old One Horn, corner stone of any army. These are fairly soldier-y looking guys, smaller than their Two Horned female counterparts. Not sure that I’m 100% sold on some of these guys but at least there are some ideas out there now.
